The Kentucky Commissioner of Education is seeking applications to be considered for appointment to the McLean County Board of Education. You are invited to nominate yourself or someone you know who is qualified to serve on the MCPS Board of Education representing Educational Division #1.  

Applications should be completed and mailed by May16, 2017.

McLean County Athletic Hall of Fame

The McLean County Athletic Hall of Fame is organized to serve all of McLean County and to recognize individuals players, teams, coaches, and honorary members that have made investments to the county and made all of McLean County athletic programs what they are today.  The McLean County Athletic Hall of Fame is seeking nominees for the inaugural class of inductees, to be inducted September 9th, 2017 at McLean County High School.  Please complete the nomination form and return to  McLean County High School, Attn: Marc Searcy – Athletic Director, 1859 Hwy. 136 East, Calhoun, KY 42327.  You can acquire a nomination form at any McLean County Public School or by visiting http://www.mclean.kyschools.us/.

Lil' Sprouts Book Club

Lil' Sprouts Book Club is family event that includes parent/guardian discussion on child development and school readiness with a story time and parent/child activity.  This event is open to all McLean Co. families with preschool age children (ages 3 - 5). 

The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 9th, at 5:30 p.m. in the Calhoun Elementary School cafeteria.  Snacks will be served.  Please RSVP to Bethanney at 270-278-9693 or Leah at 270-273-0094

Reading Fair and Family Reading Night - February 23, 2017

Be sure to come by Livermore School between 4-6pm on Thursday, February 23, for the Reading Fair, free chili and hotdogs, and Family Reading Night Events!

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Subsidy: November 1- December 9, 2016

Crisis: January 9 - March 31, 2017 (or until funds have been expended)

Monday through Friday 8-12, We are located in the old hospital at 200 Highway 81 North, Calhoun, KY

Applications will ONLY be accepted during these listed dates/times. Eligibility is determined by household size, income, etc. All eligible households will receive benefits during the Subsidy period. Benefits are more limited during the Crisis period as stated at the LIHEAP office. All household information will be verified and any false or fraudulent activity will be reported along with LIHEAP ineligibility. Stop by the LIHEAP office or call (270) 273-3355 for more information.

Required documents include:

1. Photo ID of applicant & Social Security cards for each member of the household.

2. Proof of ALL household members’ income from the preceding month. This includes Social Security, Wages, Child Support, Unemployment, Pension/Retirement, KTAP, Worker’s Comp, etc)

3. Most current heating bill, statement from your landlord if heating expenses are included in rent, statement from utility company if you participate in Pre-pay Program.

4. The account number & name on the account for all heating fuel sources & electric.

5. Please note: During crisis, applicants MUST bring a disconnect/past due notice or a copy of lease & eviction notice for those that have utilities included in rent.

APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR PROCESSED WITHOUT THESE DOCUMENTS!

Veterans Day Program

Please join us as we honor our military veterans on Friday, November 11th at 8:15 a.m. 

A breakfast reception will follow for the veterans and their guests.

Parent Volunteer Training

Parent Volunteer Training will begin at 5:00pm on November 3rd at Livermore Elementary School. This is to make up an earlier training that was previously cancelled.

Please come learn about the "Non-Traditional Instruction" and how it will affect your child on snow days.  If your child will be using a tablet or laptop, please bring it that night to ensure it's set up and ready for our first day of instruction.
