National Attendance Awareness Month and Kentucky High Attendance Day!

September 20, 2016
High Attendance Day for Kentucky

September is National Attendance Awareness Month. The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel (KDPP) have chosen Tuesday, September 20 as High Attendance Day this year.  The goal is for our district to have the highest student attendance percentage in our region for the month of September and specifically on September 20th.  This will provide our district with a great opportunity to earn recognition and awards throughout the state.

Mr. Hayes impressed with the Ag Day that Independence Bank sponsors each year.

McLean County Public Schools superintendent  Mr. Terry Hayes gets to see firsthand the outstanding job Independence Bank does by putting together the annual Ag Day. This is the 3rd year for the Ag day. It was designed to allow high school students to learn about the different careers in agricultural.  Jonathan and Traci Ayer host the event each year on their farm located on 136 between Calhoun and Livermore. Students rotated between 12 different stations. McLean County Public Schools would like to thank the following people and businesses for their time and efforts to insure this event is a success.

Crusade for Children Pennies for Ipads

Twenty-seven Ipad2 devices were purchased and distributed to special education teachers and speech pathologists for the purpose of improving instruction and providing students with new and innovative ways for learning.  This opportunity was made possible through a $10,000 grant that was received from WHAS Crusade for Children.  The WHAS Crusade for Children, Inc. established in 1954 by WHAS-TV, raises money for schools, agencies and hospitals to better the lives of special needs children. The Crusade is able to return 100% of all donations to organizations that serve special needs children in all 120 Kentucky counties and more than 50 southern Indiana counties through generous contributions of goods and services.  Millions of children have been helped by the Crusade since 1954.  Click above for more information.
